South Africa is one rich country in history, diversity, culture and of course musically.
With their rich history and mixture of culture the Southern African country has been constantly evolving in all spheres but more notably in their growing music industry.
A country that boasts the likes of house superstar Black Coffee, the legendary Hugh Masikela, the late legendary Brenda Fassie and Lucky Dube, Bucie, Cassper Nyovest – just to name a few – looks set to welcome Distruction Boyz as their new national treasure.
Real names Zipho Mthembu (Gold) & Thobani Mgobhozi (Que) are the duo that make up Distruction Boyz – and together they produce a new upbeat sound of dance house music called GQOM.
Born in the township of Kwa Mashu (Durban) the duo started producing music in their small bedroom studio around 2013.
Through constant pushing and hard work their sound made its way into people’s hearts and they’ve since been labeled the Kings of Gqom. Their recent success was producing the hit song “Wololo” which is the song that introduced Babes Wodumo to the music industry.
Music lovers will be pleased to know that Distruction Boyz are officially releasing their debut album to the world digitally and on hard copy (only in South Africa). The album titled “Gqom is the future” is expected to top the charts and the duo has pleased with their fans to help them make history but purchasing the album till it reaches Gold status and beyond.
The independent duo aim to take their sound worldwide and will be looking forward to collaborating with world artists.
A special S/O to our South African digital PR guru Dogg Dbn for bringing this talent to our attention.
All the best Distruction Boyz on your debut album – keep rising
