Hailing from the Musical Mecca of Jamaica, Sheldon Moodie aka Massawa was born into a musical family in the small community vibrant community of Mango Valley. His Father Wilton Moodie, one of the last living Banjo players in Jamaica, (a Mento Musician) guided Massawa’s love and respect for music and instilled the importance of the caretaking and preservation of the culture.
Massawa began singing at a very young age, it was clear he had a natural talent and effortless singing voice. Rasta’s in the community took him under their wing and began moving him into the spotlight. He began attracting crowds and making a name for himself as a child singer on Jamaica’s north coast. Being featured on Prime time Jamaican television early in his career.
Massawa is not letting up in the musical Journey, he recently migrated to Americas east coast and is quickly becoming a sensation.
