AMABEYOND, Amanda Badze, is a Zimbabwean singer born in the center of Zimbabwe, in a city called Gweru, and raised in Texas from the young age of three. Heard singing, correctly, from the age of four, AMA began training in music at the tender age of 12, and went on to sing in choir and musical theatre groups throughout high school, all the while performing locally. AMA went on to study Fine Arts at Howard University, where she produced her EP “Eyes of Seven” and started gigging throughout the East Coast. She continued performing, modeling, singing and producing visual art within the underground New York fashion and music scenes. Afterwards she went on to produce, and write music in LA. Finally, AMA felt compelled to explore her birthplace and began collaborating with beloved Zimbabwean producers while in Zimbabawe. Zimbabwean singer and producer, LoveDale Makalanga, contributed to the cultivation AMA’s fusion sound, which often incorporates traditional instruments such as the mbira and the djembe drum.
